Kidney Adventure
So I took a nap with LilBit yesterday. Woke up about 3:30 with truly horrible pain in my back, on the left side, about halfway down. I waited for a bit, started researching online, the pain continued and nausea set in as well. I'd been trying to help Conrad out with his paper - he'd given me about 150 articles to look up the titles, authors and years of, but after only about 16 of them I had to admit I just couldn't do it. I felt so bad. I called the doctor's advice nurse line, she said she didn't think it was an emergency but I should make an appointment to come in the next morning (it was after-hours by then) and take ibuprofine in the meantime. The pain got worse after that, I ended up on the floor rolling around and crying. By then the pain was every bit as bad as labor. Conrad saw me like that, I told him I was suspecting a kidney stone, he insisted on taking me to the ER. At the ER they also suspected a kidney stone. 5 hours, an IV that took forever to get in, and a CAT scan later, it was confirmed I had a 3 mm size kidney stone.
