I was going to post an update of how my summer's been going, but all I can think of right now is that Sheena has an appointment booked at the vet next Friday, and she won't be coming home from it. I've been telling myself for the last year that it will be easier when I've had time to prepare myself and say goodbye, but it's not easier at all. I

It's never easy, nothing will make it so, but it's better than seeing her suffer and get sicker. I'm all done school now so I'm free anytime. If you just need to get away from home for a while or something call me or just show up at my door. I'll be around and you're always welcome.

I have a cool table in my backyard now with a well in it for burning things. We could have a fire and roast marshity mallows? *loves*

Oof, that's really rough and I'm sorry. As soon as I saw the picture, I thought of what happened with Shiloh not even a year ago, although I get the impression that at least this is a case of "it's time to go" for Sheena? Even though it's the right time and the right thing to do, it's still hard as hell and I hope you're okay.

Yeah, it's a matter of time for Sheena, not a complete surprise like last summer, but still. A year ago, my whole family was prepared to say goodbye to Sheena, and everyone, vets included, expected Shiloh to live a few more years. So there's been a vey long time to get ready for Sheena, but it still went from "sometime before school starts" which feels like a long way away to "next week."
