I've wanted to change the way I care for my hair, because it seems that shampoos don't help a lot in the end. I'm concerned though because my hair is quite thin, I just have a lot of it. And I look best when it's fluffy, full of volume and not greasy or oily looking. My hair gets oily fast. How does it work out for volume/styling/greasy look? I'm quite intrigued :D
Even though my hair does feel oily when I run my fingers through it, it does not look oily or greasy after I brush it. The key here is just brushing it a couple of times a day. :)
Brushing spreads the oil that your hair is naturally producing through to the ends of your hair that don't get it. When you first start out not shampooing for a couple of days the hair will get really oily because it's not used to it. If you stick with it the hair will hopefully produce less oil (but will still produce it) as it tries to regulate itself now that it doesn't have the shampoo that constantly strips the oils away.
However, this is how it's been for my hair which can be thick. However - it has gotten gradually thinner in recent years and really thin the first part of this year due to stress and ever since I ditched the conditioner a few months ago my hair has gotten much thicker which my mom even noticed.
