So here we are. As I promised, epic PSU and Cleveland update. Sorry it took so long, pictures take forever to load, etc. Hopefully getting a computer that WORKS sometime soon. Anyway!
I guess I'll start with PSU. Fewer pictures, but many fun times.
It all started on a Lion Tour bus. Mak and 22 other Central freshies were taking a ride with G-Town, so at least I had someone to talk to/sleep on/share cds with, especially since NO ONE THOUGHT TO BRING A MOVIE ON A 4 HOUR BUS RIDE. Psh.
This is my mom's car... as seen from le autobus.
And a certain person staring at me while I was trying to take another picture
And this is Mak again... waving... to random Indian people
Loads of fun times were had on that bus.
Including a lovely shot of our shoes...
And this:
If you zoom in a bit, it says "Driver's Gratuity Not Included in Fare"
I thought that was funny.
So of course, our driver decides to take a wrong turn into the Lewis-something-or-other mental institution just before we get to State College. For a few minutes, we were headed for the "crazy house"
Which is probably where we belonged anyway.
But eventually
We did make it to Cowville. And it smelled normal.
Once unpacking was completed, I started camwhoring. Though I only took 2 pictures... Whatever
Then my roomie Romie (who deleted the picture of herself)and I met up with BECCA!!!!
And went downstairs to meet up with the boys, who I must say, took longer than we did to unpack.
After that it was usual stuff. We went out, came back, tried to order food, failed. Visited some shops and the condom dispenser over on College Ave, and I spent some time making a few good insulting quotes about Eurotrip. I swear I must be the only one who hates that movie.
That night JD and Mak played their guitars outside of Findlay. They somehow made $15, even though Mak decided to sing (AND THEY THOUGHT HE WAS GOOD!!!! - no offense really Mak...). The girls they played for were very weird. They seemed to be on some type of stimulant.
I have no pictures from the second night. But it was loads of fun. After the horrible awards ceremony, at which I got first, I went to another horrible awards ceremony, at which I got absolutely nothing.
But one thing worth mentioning: I was in Unit 69. Suh-wheat.
There was an amazing game of Ultimate Frisbee between the Central seniors and some girls and everyone else. That was a great experience. We got food and had a mini-party outside of Pennypacker.
That was really all I can remember... this was a while ago, so of course it wont sound as good, but those are the highlights.
Day 3 was very nice.
Woke up early and went to the creamery, and then for one last stroll on College Ave. After that it was time to head towards the dorms to get stuff and head o'er to the parking lot to leave.
Most of us got to do some hacking before the buses came.
And in the middle of said hacking I got to take the most retarded picture ever seen...
However Gormly decided to be a bum and sit out this year.
Mah main man Gilson did some pimping...
And Davesh did some sleeping.
Scanland was being his usual self, he was horrbly burned the Saturday before after sitting through Penn State's graduation to see his girlfriend. Cradlerobber...
And all good things must come to an end... It was a trip to remember. Eventually we got on our bus and went home.
But not on this bus... ;)
Again, not many pictures from this trip either
Our bus was some unknown company, and it ended up breaking down 3 times over the course of the trip.
On the way up was fun
I got to listen to my cd player for 4 hours longer than I'd anticipated. Our driver for this trip thought he'd take a few shortcuts which eventually turned an 8 hour drive into a 12 hour one.
I got to listen to Led Zeppelin the entire way.
The hotel we stayed at was also pretty cool.
Nothing much happened the first night we were there, since we got back from dinner (where our waiter looked like a certain pedophile and was a total jerkoff) at around 1 in the morning. I don't even remember when exactly.
Day two was Cedar Point.
Cedar Point meant my first roller coaster EVERRRRR. Yes, I am that pathetic.
But before I got some pictures, including:
Herrmann, and his epic fannypack.
The water fountains in front of the elevator.
Jerrell being cool in the elevator.
Dane's shirt.
"If you take that picture I'll punch you..." (he did)
and
The one on the left is my history teacher, Mr. Bauer. And on the right is the dance teacher Ms. Sorkin. Both being too cool for school.
On the highway over, I saw an ad for a "Fireworks Superstore"
Fireworks are legal in Ohio. Yessssssssss.
At Cedar Point I went on the Mantis first, I think as a warm up. It was great.
And for my second ever roller coaster, I went on...
Among the tallest, fastest roller coasters in the world. It was beautiful, and it had a 300 foot drop. Absolutely mind blowing. COMPLETELY worth the 2 hour wait.
On the way back we had some problems. First off we were 50 minutes late because Chase had to go get a drink, and second our bus nearly broke down.
While we were waiting to find out if we could make it back to the hotel or not, Bob decided to climb into the overhead compartment
I only got a shot of him coming out...
After playing our music at some college, we headed out to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Which was also really really really awesome.
I saw many items of interest, including:
A lit up Weezer symbol that was used on one of their tours, some outfits of Jimi Hendrix (also saw some tape of him covering Johnny B. Goode), the coat that John Lennon wore on the cover of Sgt. Pepper's and his glasses, Guitars of Pete Townshend, Hendrix, George Harrison and others, plus one of John Paul Jones's basses, and the electric piano that he used for Stairway to Heaven, No Quarter and Misty Mountain Hop, John Entwistle's bass, a pair of tamas that Keith Moon DIDN'T blow up, and there were a few interesting outfits worn by David Bowie. Of course there were loads of other odd things, most of which I'll probably remember later.
After that was the science center. Nothing really interesting there, but the building was pretty.
Matt and Jordan were making strange faces as well...
I also got a picture of Ohio's skyline
Unfortunately, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Science Center were the only really interesting parts of Cleveland. The downtown area that we visited was about as crowded as a Philly suburb at 3am on a Monday.
So basically friends, you are looking at all of Ohio.
After that we went back to the hotel where there was a banquet. Bands were being rated. Most got excellent or superior. Our band got "good."
What's worse, we were definitely the loudest, most obnoxious group there. A kid from our school walked back to our tables from somewhere and we spent a few minutes giving him a standing ovation. At least it was funny.
The last day was alright.
The guys played some pool before we left.
And for some reason Matt and Maria were throwing Swedish Fish around our room.
After we left, the bus broke down at the first rest stop we got to. I think we were delayed about 2 hours. And it started raining almost as soon as we stopped. The guys went out to play football and got soaked.
Them getting back on the bus...
The last picture I took that weekend:
Used by Herrmann a total of 19 times throughout the trip...
We got home at midnight. I went home and slept until 3pm.
The end.
Good times.
Out of 9 days, I was home for 3. I had the Cleveland trip almost immediately after States, and I did get pretty homesick. The entire week I was sleep deprived, but I think it was worth it.
And as for links for all of my pictures from both trips:
I'll make an update for those later because my computer hates life :)
