This was a good back to basics SVU episodes even if I did find that I was getting distracted by Rose McGowan's terrible mouth. Aside from really not being a special victims case, this episode was just really weird. I think that it would have worked as a mothership episode, but the way that it unfolded here was really bizarre. This was a frustrating episode because by the end there were still a lot of answered questions, especially with the fade to black they did at the end. The character of Alicia seemed a bit all over the place, I couldn't never work out whether she wanted the crime solved or not or whether she knew more than she was admitting to. This was one of those episodes where I couldn't decide whether the storyline was over the top or not. Whilst raping someone to get the police's attention seems extreme, this guy was really desparate and had to do something extreme to get the attention, since behaving normally hadn't worked so far. I kept getting the feeling throughout the episode that this was supposed to be ripped from the headlines or based on a particular billionaire. But as far as I know no billionaires have really gotten in trouble lately (except the head of the IMF and that obviously happened after this episode). As far as storylines go, this episode was pretty average. Not terrible but nothing to get excited over. Although having Jeremy Irons in it was pretty cool, especially that voice! There were some definite moments that made you go huh, but that seems to happen in every episode.
