E3 fallout never fails to amuse me.

Following the various E3 '09 coverage has been preoccupying most of my free time. Thankfully the expo is over today, but I still have some stuff to watch on DVR. I completely fell asleep through the Nintendo press conference (watching it at home after work), and simply missed the Microsoft one. I did see the entire Sony one (skipping through what ( Read more... )

All I care is that Konami's stock price (KNM) is up. :-)

Are you a big fan of Konami or do you just invest with them? Or perhaps both? ^_^

If you already have a PSP then the PSP Go isn't that great of a deal because it doesn't have a UMD drive. But if you don't have a PSP yet, the go might not be a bad choice if you can afford it. Sony said that starting on October 1st in the West and on November 1st in Japan all PSP games will be available in a digital and UMD format. So you can still play all of the old PSP games on the new PSP or at least that's how it better work come this fall. XD

I already have old PSP, but I haven't UMD. I have only few downloadable contents. Because many in them can use in PS3 too.

If you don't have any UMDs then you really don't have to worry about the PSP Go not having a UMD drive. However I still think $249 is way too high of a price during a recession.

I was working on a follow up to my first E3 post on my blog, and I was going to mention this. But seriously, it reeks of hypocrisy all around.

The Nintendo fanboys are saying what you just said. Meanwhile the Sony and MS fanboys swore that motion control was nothing more than a gimmick until said companies pick it up themselves. Fanboys. LOLZ.

Honestly, I always thought UMD was a bad idea. Portable systems with moving parts just aren't ideal at all. I'm seeing reports that Sony has something in the works for people who own UMDs, so hopefully it's not another "what are newer PS3 owners doing with their PS2 games?" situation.

1up's comments section depresses me sometimes, but some of those are gold! Oh internet, will you never learn?

I thought the UMDs were neat, but it does make the system more cumbersome than even the DS. And I hope it doesn't turn out like that with UMDs, I fear that Sony won't be converting everything to digital. If I ever get a Go or the next generation of PSP I fear I for my Japanese and (soon to be)European imports.

It's everywhere, but for some reason the commenters on 1UP were worse than Joystiq and Gizmodo. The only decent commenters all around are usually found on the Retronauts blog.

Well, it looks like UMDs aren't going to go away as quickly as we thought (or, perhaps "I" thought). I'm hearing that third party developers are pretty skeptical on this digital only thing, so it looks like UMDs are going to be sticking around. This is not good...for Sony. But hey, it's good for your imports, right?

Not anymore! Nothing like a FF7 post to ruffle some feathers (perhaps an idea?). Kotaku definitely takes the cake for the worst commenters, though. They're IQ-destroyingly bad. No exaggeration.

I had a feeling they wouldn't, even if all of the developers were on board you'd still have the retailers to worry about. It's good for my imports and the fact that we're still getting nice spoils from Atlus.

And yeah, all you have to do is bash FFVII and all of the fanboys and girls will flock to that post. We could attempt to ruffle some feathers, but the problem is, despite its ugly graphics and strange scenes I liked FFVII a lot. And this comes from someone who first played the game in '03, and marveled at the horrible graphics. XD Or we could just post our thoughts on what we loved and hated about the game in a balanced matter...
