[There's a moment where things are silent except for the singing hum of a Vibrava's wings; half of his team's visible - Bahamut hovering behind flickering in and out of view, Karma in his arms - looking like a halfway respectable fish instead of the saddest zombie-fish ever, while Iago the Arbok has his head resting on Kuja's shoulder like an ( Read more... )

[You know, your pokemon aren't the only ones worried about you. Ritz is just walking over after the feed and setting a hand on his shoulder.] I could have done that, you know. You didn't have to.

[Bijou is just going to walk over and affectionate-headbutt your leg, Kuja, and most of Ritz's team is only holding off trying to be comforting because they grasp that they're huge.]

[He does reach down to give Bijou an idle ear-scritch, although it's a bit absent-minded of a gesture.]

He was my brother... I should be the one to take care of things, if anyone.

...Still. [Ritz is clearly, well, worried about Kuja. She didn't- Zidane was important, but mainly because he was Kuja's brother.] It's not like it's the end of the world, right? He's pretty smart, I don't think he'll get in too much trouble, wherever he went.

[Bijou is turning her head up to lick at Kuja's hand, grabbing it with her front feet.]

[There's a faint ghost of a smile at Bijou for a moment; he's settling where he's sitting so it's easier for the Eevee.] He's from - ahead of me; from what he and the others he knew from then had said, it wasn't an exactly pleasant situation... but he does have friends, there. [And no memory of his own world, among other things.] I doubt they'd lose.

I'll live; whatever else may be coming, I expect he'll be well off enough back home, and from what he'd said, I'll be seeing him again. [Even though he would rather have Zidane here, and that 'seeing him again' isn't going to be pleasant either.]

Of course. [He's managed to regain enough of his footing to not sound quite as bitter as that is.] Besides, he has friends at home that must be waiting for him by now.

Zidane is-

[Cecil can't even finish his sentence before he drops the Pokégear. Only his shoes can be seen, now.]

...Thank you for telling us.

.... I'm sorry. [Of course Zidane had earned friends here - and there were people that knew him from the 'Cycle'...it was Zidane.]

It was the least I could do. [There may not be many people he was attached to enough to care about, but Zidane wouldn't have wanted the people he knew left in the dark.]

[After a minute, a hand finally comes down to pick up the Gear. The image shakes slightly.]

Still, there are those who cannot... I'll keep an eye out. Should I find any of his Pokémon, you'll be the first to know.

[Somehow, he's actually almost surprised there aren't more people responding.]

...Thank you. It is much appreciated.

Yes... Did you know him? [You ... seem to be a smallthing, of the sort he never did know what to do with.]

My name is Kuja. [Give him a minute to catch what the problem is; as much as he plays off of it, he doesn't always think about people confusing the issue when he's not trying.]

[Oh yes. That's definitely Zidane.]

Thank you - I certainly do hope to see him again.

[Although there's a small flicker of an eyebrow raise as he adds, drily, ] Depending on the advice, I'd be careful - he's very caring, and usually good with people, but he's occasionally done a little too well with girls. Enough to get slapped.
