Title: The Punch Line
Fandom: Samurai Deeper Kyo-general series
Characters: KyoxKyoshiro, Sakuya
Prompt: 060. Drink.
Word Count: 150
Rating: PG
Summary: Kyo, a drunk Kyoshiro and Sakuya's premonitions, all in one room. Slash.
Kyoshiro is leaning against him, drunk off his ass. It's a good look for him, so Kyo doesn't mind. Sakuya had left earlier, a hand against her mouth as she delicately giggled at some mysterious joke that won't reveal it's punch line until later. Maybe this was the joke? Like Muramasa, she's one of the few people he can't figure out, can't break down into some simple, easy category.
"Kyo?" Kyoshiro looks up at him, clear blue eyes unfocused for once. Before he can humph at him, Kyoshiro brushes his lips against Kyo's, or rather tries, as Kyo roughly shoves him away, causing him to fall over with a clunk. "Ouch… Hey, that smarts…" After a few minutes of trying to get up, Kyoshiro gives up and drifts off, snoring loudly.
At least now Kyo knew why Sakuya had been giggling. Damn woman.
Title: Routine
Fandom: Samurai Deeper Kyo-general series
Characters: AnthonyxHotaru
Prompt: 077. What?
Word Count: 795
Rating: PG-13 for violence and some language.
Summary: Pre-series fic set during Hotaru's stay with Yuan's family. Keikoku bothering Anthony while he does his homework.
At midnight, Keikoku had slipped into Anthony's room, hoping to get away from the pestering twins. Without even looking at Anthony, Keikoku had slid under the covers of the nearby futon and fallen asleep. Anthony had ignored him; hunched over his work table. The whole thing had become as routine as breathing anyways. Normally this routine was followed by Anthony eventually joining Keikoku and aggressively kicking him in the shins or gut a few times. When Anthony didn't come though, Keikoku woke up and crawled over to him.
"What you doing?" Keikoku whispered sleepily as he tried to look over Anthony's shoulder.
"Go back to sleep," Anthony muttered without looking at him, running a hand through his hair, still thick with styling gel. Rather than listening to him, Keikoku rested his chest on the other boy's back, his chin on Anthony's shoulder. "I told you to get off," Anthony shoved him violently, but Keikoku wrapped his arms around the other's shoulders. Apparently too tired to shove him off, Anthony finally gave up and turned back to what he was doing. "Fine, just stay out of the way."
The struggle over, Keikoku could now see Anthony's project, dark and gray in the lamp light. Laying flat on the table in front of him was a humanoid shape, obviously a doll of sort, with large X's placed in various positions. Some of them had needles stuck in the center, some off center, some laying in the board at skewed angles. Anthony was holding a few in his fingers, hand hovering over the doll.
"That's girly," Keikoku said in a voice that was firm in it's conviction without being smug.
"Shut up." The was a small flicker of light and then a jabbing sound as one of the needles suddenly flew into the doll's head, just above an X that marked the right temple. "Dammit." Anthony hissed through his teeth and tried the same move a few more times, still missing. "You're ruining my aim," Anthony tried to shrug his hanger on off.
"No, you just suc-" A palm smooshing into his face cut Keikoku off as he was suddenly shoved into the tatami mats.
"Stop being noisy and go back to sleep! Some of us are trying to study!"
Rather than point out that Anthony was the one who had been yelling a moment ago, Keikoku sat up and rubbed his face, watching as Anthony went back to his… needlework or whatever. "Did Julian give that to you?"
"Sorta. Mom gave it to him, cause he wasn't good at sewing. She used to make fun of him for that a lot. Who'd think right? The greatest needle master of all time can't sew worth shit. It's really… Hey, oh… I'm sorry," his voice was guilty as he tried not to look at Keikoku. While Anthony hated treating him with kid gloves, he didn't like doing anything to dredge up Keikoku's own issues. Not that Keikoku seemed to have noticed if the blank look on his face was any indication.
"About what?"
"Forget ab-" The whap to the back of his head was nearly enough to snap Anthony's head down so that his face was just short of plunging into the needles stuck in the doll. "Hey! What the fuck?"
"That's for hitting me earlier," Keikoku said as he made his way back to the futon. "Good night."
"You bastard! You can't just go to sleep after that!" Anthony rose to his feet, needles still in hand. "You nearly killed me! Wake up when I'm talking to you!"
Just as he was about to advance on Keikoku's sleeping form, there was a loud pounding noise in the hallway, followed by Anna's all too familiar footsteps. "Shut up you two! It's three in the morning! Go to sleep or else!"
"Sorry," Anthony muttered, glaring at Keikoku's sleeping form. Setting his needles aside and dousing the lamp, he waited for his sister to retreat before he crawled into his futon, shoving Keikoku to the side.
"Wha?"
"Just go to sleep, Keikoku."
There was a long silence and for a moment, Anthony thought Keikoku had drifted off completely, before his voice broke the silence. "Just because your doll is girly doesn't mean you are." It was almost a compliment coming from Keikoku and despite himself, Anthony was a little flattered.
"Geez," Anthonly laughed softly. "What am I supposed to do with you?"
A silent snore errupted, proving that Keikoku had dozed off for real. Sighing, Anthony forced his eyes closed. Despite it all, he knew he'd sleep well tonight.
