Back home in Indiana now and mostly recovered. I had an awesome time. Comic Con itself was kind of a pain, but I saw lots of cool artists and I got to hang out with my friends, which was the important part ( Read more... )

Apparently not. I think it's just because so many people are on vacation. And the kids are out of school, so ADHD stuff isn't as big a deal and they're not getting in trouble or getting stressed out, so there's less incentive for them to come in. We get more depressed people in winter, too, probably because it's bleak and hopeless then.

Maybe it's just me, but summer is no less bleak and hopeless. I've never understood how people make the distinction.

I really really really want to go to Gen Con, but I don't think the $23 I have to my name will get me there.

You could make it an adventure. It could be an experiment ... see how you can get yourself to Indiana and into the con for just $23. Maybe you can get people to sponsor your journey ... Like a Joseph-thon or something. Get people to put you up on your way out there. Then they have to send you along with something for the next part of your journey ... I don't know it could be fun!
