Thanksgiving has come and gone. That four day weekend was glorious... although considering I don't work 40 hours a week anymore, what am I complaining about in the first place? And of course, I made pies for Thanksgiving.
My crowning achievement was my triple layer chocolate pumpkin cheesecake. And I took a zillion pictures to try and get one that would show the layers.
It was the most labor intensive pie I've done so far, but it was SO good. I'm sad I only got a single piece... between the two Thanksgivings it saw, it was devoured.
I also made a sugar-free pumpkin pie since there were a fair amount of diabetics and teetering on diabetic at the Thanksgiving with Paul's family. Apparently they liked it- I was told it was now a tradition and to bring it every year.
OH, and this is old, but I made a birthday cake two weeks ago for Paul's mom's 60th. Citrus yellow cake with raspberry filling. It was good. :)
With my hours/salary cut, I don't think I'm going to be doing too much holiday shopping this year. I'm going to attempt some home-made gifts... I suspect a lot of cookies. I guess it's a good thing though; thinking of something thoughtful to spend money on instead of getting random junk because you can.
PS I have an interview Thursday- wish me luck!
