you skipped a step

I mistakenly grew up out of order- I skipped over the whole live-on-your-own thing before moving in with your special somebody. I went from dorms, to a roommate to roommates and Paul-- and now I'm completely on my own. It's weird for me because up until now, I hadn't lived anywhere without someone else, boyfriend or not

I know exactly how you feel. I went from parents' house to house full of roommates, to living with my ex, and now I'm living by myself. It does get pretty lonely, and you're right - talking on AIM just isn't the same. But if you have friends in the area, you should set up a thing where every weekend they come over, enjoy cooking dinner with you, and watching a favorite TV show together. Or just play a game together. It helps a lot. ♥

My problem at the moment is I don't have any friends up in this area. =/ It's been slow going making friends at work- everyone is super nice, but seems like everyone already has their routines.

Well, balls. If I lived in the area, I'd totally come over every week. Making friends seems to be getting tougher these days, because everyone seems to be absorbed in their own routines. But yeah, it'll work out eventually. :D ♥
