Surprise! You're unemployed!

Mar 04, 2009 12:18

I got told at 9.30am this morning I no longer have a job.

I have two weeks left and that's it, I join the ranks of the victims of the recession.

Didn't see it coming, wasn't told of any problems, just out the door I go.

Fuck.

Wow I am really sorry Charlie! Does your Dad and brother still have a job I know they work for the same company? You can look at this as a time to go back to school and take something you really wanted to do. I hope money will be ok for you guys and school is an option.
This recession has been so bad :(:(

Dad is losing his job as well but my brothers will still keep their jobs and work from head office which they're not too pleased about but at least its still a job for the time being!
I can't currently afford to do anything at the moment but find another job, admin probably but maybe next year things will be brighter and I'll have more options.

Holy crap - that's awful. :(

Hope you get a new and shiny job very quickly and you'll be super pleased that you got made redundant.

(Am I being naive thinking you might get a redundancy package?)

Well I've just posted off my first application for someplace, I felt the best way was to just get out there and apply for anything resembling my skills and experience which for the moment will be admin but at least those jobs won't leave me trapped in the family responsibility this one did. I'm free...just not in the way I wanted.

I get a final wage and then £750 because I've worked here 5 years and I'm only 23 and that's what the government guidelines say so, I'd like more obviously but its better than nothing.

Urgh... that's all a bit rubbish.

Hope the application goes well - give me a shout if you want some help with the CV.
