so i'm having one of those "wait til u hear this" moments. i dunno if i said it on here, but i know i told a couple ppl that i called it that this would happen. to make a long story short, some of my co-workers think i'm gay

don't you love how that works? that's one of the things i study all the time: intersections of oppression. when many queers of color come out to their families - if they don't choose their words carefully, such as saying "i'm gay," instead of perhaps explaining their sexuality or using a more culturally popular term (of which there are many) - their families think they are somehow rejecting their culture, mostly because the image portrayed in the media of the LGBT community is that of white gay males, thinking they want to be white. and unfortunately, people get hit with this even when people just *think* they're gay, as you've just witnessed yourself.

i love you and i just want you to know that you are one of the most level-headed, intelligent people i know. that makes me happy because we can talk about a lot of stuff that other people probably can't, or don't even necessarily pick up on. and i'm glad i know you, truly. ♥

the irony is that half of ur first paragraph went over my head... so u r definately learning somethin at that college of yours.

but u r exactly right, not many pp lcan talk about things like we can... especially to each other. but thats b/c we r something sort of "elite" in a way uncomprehendable to the general society. speaking of talknig, we really havent been doing too much of that lately. i'm sorta to blame. i been busy. i need to get back in touch with the good ppl like u. i miss u like i miss waking up to quality saturday morning cartoons and homemade pancakes. its deep like that.

as i say and have said before, i dont act black nor do i act white nor do i act straight nor gay nor male nor female... i just act like me... a lil bit of everything... even a little bit of puerto rican.
