Wow, great introspection. Despite his obvious flaws as a parent, you give him somewhat of an enduring quality in parts of the fic. Good job!

Thank you! Maury kinda strikes me as the ultimate 'it's not my fault' excuses finder and I didn't want to show him as being totally evil, more selfish. I'm hoping we see more of him and more of Matt's darker side in season 3!

I try to think about why characters act the way they do, especially minor ones that the show might not get a chance to cover- glad you liked!

I always thought Maury was an interesting character, and with his fear, he kinda reminded me of his son, only his son got past it while Maury never did.

So I liked to see the shades of similarity there. Good job, this is wonderful.

I love the parallels between Matt and Maury- and I could so see Matt gradually becoming more and more like his father (another fic I did for a previous challenge was similar to this but from Matt's POV- I seem to get the most plot bunnies for this concept!)

Oh wow, thank you! I've never been added to a rec list before, I'm honoured! (plus, thank you, reading through the rest of your list will help stave off the boredon at work today!)

I love writing about Maury and Matt, I love the parallels between them and yet how different they are. I have a suspicion that season 3 will start to explore the darker side of Matt and his powers which will just make me bounce a lot! They both show just how easy it can be to abuse powers like that without even really noticing it. I'm really hoping we haven't seen the last of Maury too!
