ABOUT YOURSELF
Describe your personality in five adjectives: Honest, opinionated, stubborn, loyal, sarcastic
What are some good points?: I am highly family oriented, love to learn, and enjoy smiling.
What are some bad points?: I can be both easily distracted and too focused - all depending on the situation. Sometimes I am a bit too sensitive, and I tend to more solitary activities.
What are some of your interests, hobbies, and talents?: reading, documentaries, movies, GOOD television shows (with actual plots and storylines)
What's one thing you dislike?: Political correctness
Are you more unsocial or a social butterfly?: More unsocial
What do you like to do (ex., on a Friday night)? What would your perfect day be like?: The perfect day would be a day where nothing was required of me - I could read, spend the day on the computer, or do a marathon of my favorite shows without worrying about the time or what someone else needed me to do.
What are some of your goals in life?: To travel extensively, write a book, meet a wonderful man and fall in love (& STAY THERE).
Are there any political issues or causes you feel strongly about?: Oooh, I could go on - I am very pro-life, very patriotic, I believe that strong borders are needed for any nation, less government is better, any move towards socialism should be countered, and people have an obligation to be involved in their government by voting and communicating with their representatives (if they are not, they should not complain).
What are your favorite books?:Lord of the Rings
Your favorite music (bands or type)?: Almost anything & everything except hip-hop and rap.
Your favorite time period?: The 40s
Your favorite clothing item (shirt, dress, pants, corset, stockings, garters, fascinator, etc.)?: Boot cut jeans or a gypsy-cut skirt (depending on my mood)
Which is your favorite decade of the 20th century, fashion- or lifestyle-wise?: I love the glitz & glamor of Hollywood's golden era.
Which cities would you most like to travel to?: Vatican City, New York, Paris, Venice, Jerusalem
Do you have any style icons or heroines?: Not particularly
Who's your favorite person in the whole world? Why?:my mother - she is one of the best people I know - she is truly optimistic about people and life in general
What do you admire most about people?: Their ability to love and to create.
ABOUT THE SILVER SCREEN
What are your favorite movies?: Way too many to start listing...
Your favorite classic movies?: The Thin Man series, Rebecca, Pride & Prejudice (with Garson & Olivier), the old musicals
Who are your favorite actresses (from any period)?:Greer Garson, Myrna Loy, Marilyn Monroe (who WAS a wonderful comedic actor, not just a sex symbol), Katharine Hepburn - I could go on and on.
Who are your favorite actors?: Clark Gable, Jimmy Stewart, Spencer Tracy, Fred Astaire, I could go on even further here!
Do you think you would enjoy being in Hollywood?: Probably not, but I would have liked it more under the studio system I think. They just had an air then, and although they were always in the press, it wasn't just for the "scandal of the week" that we get these days.
Would you be more of a recluse, an enigma, like Greta Garbo, or a flamboyant socialite, an open book, like Marion Davies?: Somewhere in the middle - I'm not an extremist.
What do you like about past eras of Hollywood? (This can be as brief or elaborate as you like it.): There were more REAL actors/actresses - without losing personalities. To me, a real actor/actress gets the part so right, so perfect that you can forget who is playing and the character becomes real. So often these days, the "stars" are so embroiled in conflicts that people are remembering that instead of getting lost in the roles.
What's a quote that you like by an actor?: It's well done if you can do a part and not have the acting show. Jimmy Stewart --- "I admire some of the people on the screen today, but most of them look like everybody else. In our days we had individuality. Pictures were more sophisticated. All this nudity is too excessive and it is getting very boring. It will be a shame if it upsets people so much that it brings on the need for censorship. I hate censorship. In the cinema there's no mystery. No privacy. And no sex either. Most of the sex I've seen on the screen looks like an expression of hostility towards sex."
How about a quote ABOUT an actor or actress?:"I never enjoyed my work more than when I worked with William Powell. He was a brilliant actor, a delightful companion, a great friend and above all, a true gentleman." Myrna Loy
ARE YOU MORE
SHY or OUTGOING?: A bit more on the shy side until I know you.
VAIN or MODEST?: Modest
STRICT or RELAXED?: Relaxed
NEUROTIC or UNTROUBLED?: More untroubled I think
MELANCHOLY or HAPPY?: Happy
Desirous of WEALTH or FAME?: Both(?)
SUCCESS or ACCLAIM?: Again, both(?)
AFRAID OF FAILURE or EAGER FOR THE ADVENTURE?: Somewhere in the middle
ETHEREAL or DOWN-TO-EARTH?: Down-to-earth
METHODICAL or IMPROVISATIONAL?: Somewhere in the middle
ARTSY or CONVENTIONAL?: Conventional
QUIET or UNINHIBITED?: More on the quiet side
COMPLEX or SIMPLE?: Simple
COMEDY or TRAGEDY?: Comedy
PRIMA DONNA or HUMBLE?: Humble
FOLLOWER or LEADER?: Leader when the time calls for it - calmly in the background when things are smooth
FEMME FATALE or GIRL-NEXT-DOOR?: Girl-next-door
