A little advice here to anybody new to using blogs: If you notice that the webpages are being unusually slow to load or if a message saying anything along the lines of "server busy" do not update your blog at this time. as soon as you hit update journal, and error will come up saying it did not process correctly and everything you have written

Santa Cruz can be intense. I'm glad you took your experience and learned from it. Many who have a difficult time at that stage in their life become bitter. It's sad.

I'm sorry to head that Live Journal gave you problems. It is new to me, but it was highly recommended from many "seasoned" bloggers. I've taken to doing a select all and copy before hitting update. I, too, have lost whole entries, and this was my fix (i.e., I could then paste what I wrote into a new page).

just highlight what you wrote and copy (ctrl+c) and then hit the update key, this way even if something gets messed up, you can just press ctrl+v (paste) in a new entry and it will all come back
