SimStoCreMo Drabble - James' Dirty Little Secret
So....filming is DONE (yay!). I plan on working on the chapter tomorrow while I babysit my brother post-surgery, and since most of the chapter's written I might be able to get it done tomorrow.
But that's not what this is about. This is about a crazy idea I had as I was contemplating the fact that James is getting older. It takes place shortly before Nick and Alice's wedding. I guess it could be considered a spoiler, but I don't know if I'll actually use this in a future chapter or not.

“James, you cannot wear that hat to your son’s wedding. I don’t care what anyone says,” Cindy said, exasperation evident in her voice.
“I think it looks rather dapper, don’t you?” he replied, adjusting the brim in the mirror.
“If it were a top hat, yes, and then I would not object to you wearing it. But it’s not appropriate for a wedding. You need to take it off.”
“I’m not taking it off,” he affirmed.
Cindy put her hands on the offending hat and tried to pry it off her husband’s head, but he was holding on it on his head just as firmly.
“James Bradford,” she huffed. “Why are you being so stubborn about this?”
“I like my hat!” he insisted, stomping his foot as small child would.
“James, I swear…” she practically growled.
He let out an exaggerated sigh, knowing that further fighting would do him no good. Slowly and reluctantly, he reached up and removed his hat. Cindy still looked puzzled.
“I don’t understand. Other than your hair being a mess from being under the hat, you look fine.”
“Why don’t you grab your brush and fix it for me?”
He sat at the foot of the bed, and waited as Cindy ran her brush over his silver locks. Her hands hesitated for a moment, and then she started to laugh. He abruptly got up and brushed her hands away.
“James, I’m sorry,” she said between laughs. “But that’s why you want to wear that stupid hat?”
“I’m glad you find it funny,” he huffed.
Cindy stifled her giggles, and wrapped her arms around her husband. “James, I swear I’ll love you even if you are going bald. But you can’t wear your hat to Nick’s wedding.”
