So I did end up watching Sense8, and I found it engaging and gripping and beautiful. Looking forward to the next season. It's an intersective blend of eight different movie genres, has a fun 1990s conspiracy feel, and involves a dozen main characters who actually behave like people -- like people I could know and love -- and are not unlikable, ( Read more... ) -
Not committing to titles yet
My life has been busy but quiet in the five years since I've been a regular on here.
I gained a daughter in 2011. She is now in preschool, loves puzzles and dressing up and dinosaurs. Connor is now eight and in third grade, loves Legos and Doctor Who and Plants vs. Zombies and hates math class.

On seasons and weather and harvest, but nothing too deep
The one reason I'm glad to work in the sports department of the local newspaper is that following the cycle of sports through the year, even moreso than gardening, keeps me aware of the seasons changing. On craziness, but mostly chickens
We've been running around ourselves, busy with the garden and fixing the cars over and over again and futilely attempting to clean the house. Jim has taken some lovely pictures of the garden, which he or I will need to post some time soon. We are alive, and even well.
The Feasting and Family day has not occurred for us yet, though we did have an excellent time with angus_mcnitt this past weekend. I am headed to Chicago for our annual Harvest Celebration with sheekayt and sorrowsheart. Yes, I am traveling out there instead of visiting any of the rest of you. One logic board later, we have a computer again. Thank goodness. We actually did pretty well without one, though I am more impressed with Jim's tolerance of not being connected -- I was able to check email (and Bookmooch, and had Google) at work at least.
