Wee hee! I’m done! I’ve gotten 9 pieces written and/or finished this month. That’s more than I’ve ever written before in my life! Even for school.
All right, so. I may have cheated a bit on this, but it’s a technicality and not very important. I was so shocked about the date on Handcuffs that I went rooting around in my Torchwood file and found some very interesting stuff. I found one short story that I’d completely finished - everything was ready to post, but I never uploaded or posted it. Then I found a Janto story I’d started to write that started when Ianto first saved Jack from a Weevil and was gonna go all the way through their relationship. I remember abandoning that because I thought everyone had their own version of how boy met boy and wouldn’t be interested in mine. It was also hard work and kind of redundant. I have no desire to continuing writing it, but I did find that a few chapters dealing with Ianto’s first day on the job were good. I salvaged and cobbled them together into a story.
Taking the new finds into account, I now had my 4 Friday posts ready and 3 out of 4 Saturday posts too. I still had one to go. So I whipped up some Wincest, which is new territory for me. In fact, I’m delving into a whole new fandom with my first Supernatural stories this month. As if that (and playing with such good looking boys) wasn’t enough, I realized how much I’d done this month. Get the girl out of school and there’s no stopping her! (LOL)
Of course, now I’m going to be bored again with nothing to write, so I’m going to up the ante. I mentioned themed weekends in my last post, and I’ve decided to go with that. For every weekend in July, I am going to post three stories or chapters over three days in a single fandom. That’s going to be tough because I’m being bombarded with Torchwood bunnies right now and I really wanna try more Supernatural. I’m going to have to force myself to write more of Unhealthy Obsession and get some more LOTR out.
Oh, the breakdown of my stories looks like this. (If you even care . . . )
♩Technically, I have 5 Torchwood posts ready: 2 one shots, and 3 chapters of another story.
♪ 3 one shots for Supernatural: 2 gen, 1 slash.
♬ 1 LOTR one shot with pre-slashy and slashy overtones
I have nothing written for Unhealthy Obsession, and I’m seriously doubting my ability to continue it. (Grrr!) I’m kind of on the fence over the Torchwood stuff. I mean, all I’d have to do is capture one of the plot bunnies bouncing around my brain and I’d have two Torchwood weekends. It would save me having to write for one of my unpopular fandoms, but it seems kind of unfair. Like I’m short changing some readers, especially Trekkies. I’ve decided to split everything into two weekends, and I’ll make up for it by sitting down and having a little heart to heart with Captain Kirk (the uncooperative bastard).
In other news, I was rather disappointed with the numbers on my traffic graph last weekend. The Torchwood fandom has grown tremendously since I first started writing nearly a year ago, but the bars didn’t go quite high enough for me. I suppose I only have myself to blame for that though. I posted on a holiday weekend when many people would be traveling. I also haven’t really written anything for Torchwood since the new year. I went skimming through recent stories and was astounded by all the new names. There were even fics in French!!! I really wanna try reading those, but I doubt my ability to read my second language of choice. (I’m way far away from being fluent.)
Anyway, I’m hoping that by continuing to post throughout the month, my numbers will improve, and my inner review whore will be satisfied. That was also disappointing, by the way. I only got maybe 2 reviews all week - and one of them was for an old story! I want my inbox flooded with reviews or favorites or alerts. I’m greedy that way! =P
