It's one of those defining moments that happens with so many fandoms, isn't it? where it suddenly goes mainstream and has all these new fans who never liked it/had even heard of it/openly mocked old fans before and the old guard have mixed emotions of 1)It's great that it's now a major fandom but 2)these Johnny-come-latelies think they're more of a fan than me?? Damn them and their air of superiority!!!
