X-Men: First Class fic - But it Beats Getting a Real Job (3/?)

Nov 14, 2011 03:51

Legitimately just written 2,000 words in the past hour. I can't decide if I'm pleased or weirded out.

This part is longer than previous installments, partly because Charles et al would just not let me get to the point, and partly because it's been so long since I updated. I'm hoping this will pave the way for your forgiveness, dear readers :D ( Read more... )

there's a 14 year old girl in all of us, did i write this, angel/raven, why so hot magneto, i don't even write sequels what, i should feel guilty but i don't, adorable lab rats (who kill for a living, kink memes are the shit, alex&hank isn't it bromantic, charles/erik, i'm so sorry guys, i regret nothing, not so much with the funny, sequelly goodness, xmfc, i was drunk when i wrote this, angel is judging you daddy-o, that's just how i roll, they totally started it, someone stop me making these tags, professor x is a nerd (a sexy nerd), backspace if you no likey, femmeslash, men with guns are not hot, darwin don't take none of your bullshit, the tags are the best part, sanity was never an option, what is my life, what is this i don't even, crapping over your canon, i'm having fun just tagging this, can't stop writing, how is this real, i blame james mcavoy, assassins!, awkward morning-after conversations, fic, crackity-crack-crack, character death, moira mactaggert is better than everyone, so many tags, banshee's not high he's just like that, bleary-eyed randomness at 3am, slash

:D SERIOUSLY DUDE <3 <3 <3

Banshee! AND THE CIGAR! And :( Armando. AND THE CIGAR.

Yeah, sometimes it sucks to be British, right? Why am I writing a high school AU and not something set in Oxford where I've, you know, ACTUALLY LIVED?

Now running away to squee on my journal.

Haha thank you! I'm glad you liked it - AND THE CIGAR :D

I know right? The weird thing is, though, that being in so many American fandoms has made it hard to write in British ones. I have to keep reminding myself we Brits don't normally say stuff like 'douchebag' and 'that sucks' :). Admittedly, where I live, very few books/movies/etc. have ever been set there, so the chances of me finding a fandom where I can write with my everyday voice is pretty slim.

Whoo, journal squee! This has made my week :D

Just found this series today and it was wonderful... The humor and the angst and the luvvv. It's all amazing.
That said... Darwin! Noooooooo. And where o' where is erik. Charles wants to punch him and then climb him like a tree... And I for one would really like to see that, so, yeah.

Better late than never? Haha, I'm so glad you liked it! I feel like I should confess that I'm not nearly this funny in real life, though :)

And I for one would really like to see that, so, yeah.

I think we'd all like to see that :D

Poor Darwin.....

Fabulous update!! I have none of the three American accents you mentioned, but I am thoroughly enjoying your story and do not feel like anyone's voice is off.

I'm so sorry! :)

Oh dear. I have a feeling that this remark is going to come back to haunt me. Sarcasm doesn't translate that well over the internet :) But I'm glad you think they sound okay!

Thanks for the comment :)

SNARK IS AWESOME. I LIVE FOR SNARK. AND PORN but that's another story :D

I'm so glad you're enjoying this, bb, although I'm really very sorry about causing you sad faces. IT HAD TO BE DONE. I ONLY REGRET IT A LITTLE.

Oh, thank god. TV DIDN'T LIE TO ME :D

The same way that being British makes me an expert on Scottish and Irish accents haha.

YES. SNARK AND PORN ARE LIKE, SOUL FOOD.

IT'S OKAY. I love you anyways.

American isn't all that hard to use/be/sound? (I can't figure out what verb to useDDD:) Just take your lovely British one and dumb it down and run on sentences and add dude and bro and like where they shouldn't be. lol

(so, very very much an expert. like, being the wizard of accentsXD)

You know the weird thing? Being in so many American fandoms has started to affect my actual speech patterns. I now regularly go around calling people dude (or douchebag when annoyed :D). I get a lot of weird looks lol.

True story *nods* :D

I AM DEEPLY AND PROFOUNDLY DISPLEASED WITH THIS TURN OF EVENTS.
That said, everything going up to it was thoroughly enjoyable, particularly Angel and her attitude, Charles and his protectiveness, and Raven and her banter with Charles. The characterisation and interactions in this are a continuing and consistent joy.
Also: this must be what going mad feels like -- I see you there, Browncoat X] <3

I'M SO SORRY. If it helps, my inability to write angst deeper than that of a fourteen year old with their first crush means that you won't have to suffer much longer! :D

I think that's one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me about this 'verse. Thank you so much, bb! :)
