Downton Abbey Series 3, Episode 1
GAH!!!!!!! All the feels!!!!!! Since I have banned myself from Tumblr and twitter (which I’m trying very hard to resist rejoining) I need somewhere to pour out all my feels!!!
So spoilers ahead and please! I need someone to fangirl about this with!!
Can I just say how much I loved this episode - I laughed, I cried (well, almost, but as close as I get to crying over TV shows) and I felt all warm and fuzzy inside!!!!!
My feels are literally allllllll over the place, but can I just say AT LONG LAST!!!!
Mary and Matthew are married!!! YES!!!!!
I mean, I KNEW they would be, but there was always that slight niggling doubt that Fellowes would screw them over once again. It was close, but they made it through.
AND ARE NOW MARRIED!!!
And like still sooooooo adorable!!!
And I just loved seeing them as a couple, so cute and all flirty and teasing each other - just how I knew they would be. And then they had a big fight (which we all knew was inevitable) and then they made up and it was sooooooo adorable! Talking through the doorway and then kissing with their eyes closed.
And can I just say - Matthew and Mary’s lines at the end. SO PERFECT! It just sums them up brilliantly!
They are going to be sooooooo great to watch now. Can’t wait to see them actually married next week - sooooo cute!
Basically my incoherent thoughts are summed up by these two pictures:
And obviously, the episode wasn’t JUST about Mary and Matthew, so can I say I really liked the whole Branson/Matthew bromance, the Matthew/Molesley bromance. O’Brien’s nephew as the footman and all the jokes about him being tall. Mr Carson being as awesome as ever, as were Daisy/Mrs Patmore.
And of course hats off to Violet and her sparring with Cora’s mother! That was some awesome bickering!!
So, roll on next week. I definitely think this series is going to be amazing!!
Now I just need to think of a song or some music so I can make a Mary/Matthew video out of the episode! Suggestions definitely welcome! And lots of fangirling thoughts too! I can't stop squeeing and grinning!!!
