i leave saturday to present research that i worked on last year at the geological society of america national meeting in denver. im scared out of my mind. i HATE public speaking, its bad enough presenting a paper in class, let alone research i will have to defend in front of a room full of potential employers or PhD advisors. the meeting lasts ( Read more... )

today i saw an SUV with a vanity license plate that read "KEEP FIT" turn into the drive thru at taco bell. ha!

wednesday i saw 3 sets of tandum bikes at different times, i think it's a sign that me and kevin need to get one.  maybe there was a tandum bike race i dont know about...

Just got back from summerland key where i was staying at the mote marine tropical research lab. it was good times, did about 7 dives in a day and even though the vis was terrible the reefs were pretty nice and i saw some cool stuff.  it was the first time i actually had to use my compass to find my way back to the boat by myself and that was kinda ( Read more... )

SO.... summer has started, thank goodness. i finished up my terrible semester with straight A's though so I cant complain too much. I got back last week for 3 days of scuba diving in Biscayne National Park which is so much more awesome than Pennekamp b/c no one goes there so the reefs are in a lot better condition. apparently good, good, very good, and excellent is not enough for the NSF, i was rejected from their fellowship :( im going to have no money for next year. and im struggling in geology! geology! thats sposed to be my subject... and the next test is next week, 2 days after the next chemistry test. i suck.
