Life With A Job

Wow.  It's been over a month since I last posted.  I suppose that means I need to post more often.

I noticed I never posted the plumbing story, which is sad.  Basically what happened was this.  Both toilets in my mother's house were leaking from the water shutoff valve near the floor, and I took it upon myself to replace them.  Can't be too hard, ( Read more... )

Yay for Douglas Adams! I still haven't read "hitchhikers guide..." but I did read a bunch of his short stories and loved them.

As for lazy, constantly late and rude employees...I swear that's an epidemic these days with my college students. They want to become teachers--and I think that perhaps I should steer them towards an alternative career if you say that lateness and rudeness are allowed there. Hmm...

I'm sorry for you, though. I know it stinks at times...but maybe now you can read? They probably don't want you reading for the same reasons slave masters didn't want their slaves to read--education and learning is a dangerous thing ;)

"Hitchhikers Guide" is really an amazing book. It's one of the only books (with the Harry Potter series) that has ever made me laugh out loud consistently through the whole thing.

The reading thing is ever-changing. We've been told by several managers that we're not to do it at all, ever, but one or two other managers have said it's okay as long as we don't get caught. So I don't read, I sing instead :)

Hey Fishy, its David Hechler. I laugh every time I think of the plumbing story. I can't wait to visit you guys. We are coming to see you in 2 weeks cause of Agape. We really want to hang out with you guys. We got you tickets to Agape, so you can come and hear Photoside, woot. Also, I hope Walmart gets better and you get to work in the back ALL the time. Keep your nose plugged and a taser with you at all times. Talk to you later,

David

Hey David! We're excited to see you too. They scheduled me to work for both days of Agape, though :( I can't get off on Friday, but I'll try really hard for Saturday. I don't work until 2:00 on Saturday, but I'd still like the time off to see the rest of the bands. It really sucks working at Walmart. You pretty much have to have almost 4 weeks notice to ask off for anything :(
