I probably should have replied to this sooner, but I totally forgot.

First, I should have been more clear when writing this. Chad and I are doing extremely well given the circumstances, and actually really well regardless. We haven't gotten along this well since we were halfway through dating.

Second, I've sort of done the writing letters thing before, and I probably should again, even if just for my own sake. I feel very compressed and near to bursting with emotions lately.

But there's no way that giving the letters to anyone would help. My family has always had a terrible communication problem--a complete and total lack thereof. I never realized it until I got married and moved away from it. Even if I were to write my feelings out in a civilized letter, it would just evoke negative emotions. No one is rational in this house.

And besides...Emily is a master at manipulation. Anything I say or do in good faith would be ripped apart the second she got involved.

Hence our desire to move out as soon as possible.

I'm sorry that things are so rough--but I'm glad to hear that things between you and chad are going well.
