currently reading Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood.

I never did finish Portnoys Complaint I never really got into it and it just seemed a little too spastic for me and didn't have a point. This guy's mom drove him crazy so he just whacked off all the time and had strange sex preferences. Not my cup of tea.

Let me know what you think of Alias Grace... I own it, but haven't read it yet. It may get moved up in the queue with a good recommendation. :)

By the way, are you still on AIM at all? If you're interested in some mp3s, find me ('platapescado'). I promised you a list of classical pieces ages ago... maybe I can redeem myself by sending you the music itself instead.

Hope you're well, dear...

I'm usually on in the evenings after work, as early as 6pm (EST) and as late as 1am (though I try to be "good" and go to bed by midnight so I can get up early). I spend most nights sitting at my computer, so hopefully I'll run into you soon... :)

I know have a copy of The Handmaid's Tale which I will get to sometime later this spring or this summer. I just started reading, The Wild Shore by Kim Stanley Robinson. It is the story of a village of fisherman north of San Diego in 2047, in a future where the world got so tired of the United States that our country was neutralized through massive nuclear strikes. San Diego for instance has a population of 2,000. People trade by barter, there are no more national or state governments, no more interstate highway systems or trains, no electrical grid. Whenever we try to rebuild say a bridge or repair train tracks, missiles from offshore demolish them overnight. It is fantasy of course...but it is also plausible that the world could get that tired of us...

The Handmaid's tale is another book that I have been told I should read so it is on my list I am going to look for it. The book you are reading sounds quite interesting.
