I was really disappointed with the epilogue. We didn't see anything of REAL significance there, I thought.
And some of the stuff seemed a bit hokey but, overall, I liked it. I'm left with a WHOLE lot of questions, though. I suppose those will have to be answered by fan writers if we want any sort of proper denoument at all.
I was actually quite surprised that I wasn't more disappointed with the epilogue. I tend to get very annoyed when I don't get what I feel is the appropriate payoff at the end of spending a large chunk of time on something. Though I've already said I wished she'd write a follow-up, which pretty much denotes not enough ending. I think there was essentially a chapter or chapters missing between the final chapter and the epilogue. She did a very good job after Dumbledore's death. I'm sad that didn't follow through here

Yeah, I had big issues with the deaths save that one. They didn't have the gravitas I thought they deserved and I think a lot of that is because there was no real "aftermath"...it was just like they were written out. Not quite as bad as a Wash-like death, but pretty close.
As far as anything else going wrong, I was picking up on a huge betrayal coming that never did, so I was quite glad to be wrong on that score. But I'd better shut up now...I'm getting dangerously close to being spoilery.
