Ok. So basically, what spurred this on was that yesterday I was kind of angsting on Twitter about how, despite having just under 13 years' worth of singing training, I felt like my skills were kind of slipping - I still sing publically every 2 weeks but it's been a while since my last one-on-one singing lesson with a teacher (I paused due to money ( Read more... )

Bloody hell, your voice is amazing! I love the control you have on your voice~ <3 And damn it there aren't enough of us altos around!

Awww, you flatter me sweetie >__< I still need lots of improving lol. We should karaoke together someday. <3

That's funny actually, while I was recording this I kept on thinking about how much stronger I wish my control was XD

And about there being not enough altos - SO TRUE. There needs to be more songs out there for altos ... the color of the alto voice is often beautifully rich, as opposed to the 'brightness' found in the soprano voice. It makes me sadface that most songs are written for sopranos though :( I need to increase my range so I won't have difficulty hitting higher notes.

I can reach the C# below middle C, and my highest note for my natural chest voice is the B flat above middle C. If I want to go higher than that I have to switch to falsetto voice.

How about you?

I can't listen to it 'caus I'm in a cafe in a foreign country. But I know your voice, and I reckon you're being too hard on yourself.

I haven't had a singing lesson since 205, wah, and haen't sung properly since my last musical finished in may (though of course I sing all the time, heh). My voice has probably deteriorated a lot more than yours. :(

Hahahahahahaha ... the fact that you remember what my voice was like from high school actually makes me feel pretty embarrassed. XD Hope recalling it didn't give you brain damage. I'm glad the general color of my voice is somewhat better now than it was back then, even though my technique is starting to slip.

I doubt your voice has deterioriated that much :) I miss singing with you guys. When you come back why don't we have a random singing day at someone's place, like Reffi's or someone? :D I will provide my usual harmonization services! ♥

Aww, thanks Shoe. I don't feel as great as you've made me sound, but I'm really happy that this inspired you. ♥ It's good for artists like us to aim higher, so here's hoping that we'll both be able to improve as much as we can XD

We should go karaoke sometime soon~ I'm going again on Halloween before Jill's, but most people will be at a photoshoot~ :(

I might organise something in November, otherwise on my 21st in December. :D
My singing is still very amateur and basic... But i'm slowly getting there! ^^
