In case you haven't seen it, my post last year has a few links to more highlights. It was just as surreal then, if not more so. I understand it's a lot to take in at once, though. Eurovision has that effect.
If you want to brave the madness live, you could always tune in this year (on May 26) over the internet. I just watch BBC's coverage through an anonymous stream (fun fact: the UK always fares horribly in this "contest"). I can't remember what time during the day it starts, though--have to wait for more info on that.
Also, I'll just leave this here...another epic Eurovision moment from years past.
Here are some Eurovision fun facts: - you probably know that Jedwards took part in the UK's X-Factor show. But did you know it only took Simon 30 seconds to hate them? (hopefully it's not blocked in the US!)
- France is sending Anggun. (video isn't the actual entry) "We're going for something sexy this year" they said. Basically, here's their plan: -- send attractive woman -- make her sing something -- hope for the best How could this original and never-before-seen tactic go horribly wrong? Seriously though, I can't wait to see France at the bottom of the results page, along with the UK and Switzerland (oh am I kidding, we probably won't even qualify!)
- Speaking of which, Switzerland voted for their eurovision song some time ago and this one came out on top: I usually don't listen to Eurovision songs in advance but since this is MY COUNTRY, I need 4 months to come up with a proper apology

Also, I still love Caroban and I listen to it every other day. The video's saved on my iPad too (HD quality obviously!). Would I defend this song with my life? Yes and I'd also use anything that could be lying around at the time (except spiders because fuck them).
It's pretty understandable why Simon hated Jedward after that awful performance...
Yup! It's going to be fun...catching up on naps during France, Switzerland and UK's entries. Hopefully Moldova will deliver something epic again to keep me interested otherwise!
I laughed hard at Switzerland's entry for this year. Mostly 'cause the chorus sounded like "swim against the shrimp, following your wildest dream, your wildest dream!" But I wouldn't count them out of the running just yet. It seems to be a trend that the terribly formulaic/safe songs win so maybe this year will be Switzerland's lucky year!
Haha what, that last video is awesome. Is that Boromir at 1:28? Such a cute sounding song only to end abruptly hardcore with "THEY'RE NOT GONNA GET US". It really does capture the spirit of Eurovision.
