Accutane: Day 37.

So it's not been so bad, yet. The side effects of Accutane, so far, are just mildly annoying as opposed to being a pain in the ass or worse, dangerous. A quick rundown:

*Dry facial skin, obviously, but I've even managed to keep it under control for the most part. I switched from Cetaphil moisturizing cream to Cerave moisturizing cream on a nurse's ( Read more... )

Man, this seems like an ordeal. I'm glad things are going well, though.

As an easily sunburned girl living in a sunburned state, I recommend a parasol for your walks ( everybody uses them here), and a little tube of sunblock for when you drive. I've had the left-arm tan since I moved here. ;D You could also get one of those suction-cup window shades for your driver's side. You can see through it, it'll just keep you from getting toasted.

Man. I have considered the parasol idea, even though everyone here would look at me like I'm nuts. You know how sometimes vegetarians say that they feel like people get annoyed with them when they say they can't eat at a certain place because there are no veg options? I feel like that at lunch at work, sometimes. Everyone wants to eat outside everywhere we go and I'm like "..."

I am definitely getting the left-arm tan. Or burn, really. What kind of sunblock do you use?

And I hadn't thought about getting a window shade. Thanks. :)

Aw, ha ha! When my veggie friends came to stay, we went to this Vietnamese joint they were all excited about, and like the three items that were "vegetarian" were made with beef broth. And the looks on their faces! They were so sad, I wanted to cry! ;D So believe me, nobody's going to be annoyed with you because nobody wants you to be sad or burned.

I like Banana Boat Ultra Defense. It says "broad spectrum sunblock", SPF 80. That might be the highest SPF I've ever seen. But it's awesome and smells lovely. Do be aware, as I had to learn the hard way, that all sunblocks have an expiration date.

Dude, I have an awesome parasol I will totally send to you. It's red with blue wooden struts and painted with cherry blossoms. Think you would use it?

Duuuuuude I would totally use an adorable Hawaiian parasol. It would be perfect for Keeneland! :)

Oh, and I have also learned the hard way about sunblock expiration dates. :) haha.
