First some quick doctoring/mothering: your body is asserting its need for sleep!
And then, more importantly: professors have a magical radar that lets them know when someone really, really feels bad for missing something. And they know you already - this would be tougher if it were the first week of the semester, but since they know what you're like by now they know it's a one-time, out-of-character thing.
And as for feeling not together - you know how once you start to trip, you let go of your coffee and your bag and lose focus on your conversation? Sometimes life is like that - one thing starts to go wrong and you sort of spin out of control and other things start to go wrong too. Don't worry - you'll get it back together, regain your balance and go, "Yipes! Okay, wow, back to walking now." I'm confident you're not going to fall on your metaphorical ass.
Oh dear. I totally agree with jzavodnick. It will all be ok. No one has it quite as together as they think. What I want to know is what kind of insane choir are you in that holds disciplinary meetings until 1 am!?
