Re: trash can of the yard---we've been yanking out the ivy around our apartment to make way for a proposed small veggie garden, and it's amazing how much trash we've found--not just random beer bottles and toothbrushes, but also condoms and hypodermic needles. Yeah==c'mon, people!

Lovely. *throws up a little*

What the hell is wrong with people? Yeesh! Huzzah for your dedication! But be careful!

See you in a few months, BTW! We'll be up there in June!

Yeah, we've been trying hard not to lean to hard on the soil with hands or knees just in case one more hypodermic needle awaits unseen...But I'm happy to declare that we have made excellent progress this weekend on reclaiming the space for spinach!

The nice thing about living right downtown is that a million people walk by and cheer on our gardening efforts. That helps make up for the garbage.

Can I be like your bee-keeping apprentice or at least a sporadic bee-keeping cheerleader? I am in awe of social insects and would love to learn more!

Awesome! Just make sure that the soil isn't contaminated.

And totally! I'm still learning, but once I get the ball rolling, I'll tell you everything I know. Just starting to read about it online has been REALLY interesting!

Woot, on the beekeeping! Did some research and found that it's doable? OMG, the octomom webpage would have had me doing a spit take had I been drinking anything.

Yeah, it's totally doable! I'm just figuring out the details of where I can put one so that it'll be far enough away from the daycare and all that. But I'm way excited! Thanks for poking at me about it! He he.
