I am officially technology retarded.  Everyone on lj has these cool little flashing multi-frame animated icons they've made and I don't have the first clue how to even begin.  I know what I want to do, but don't know.  Maybe some smarty pants will read this and have compassion on a poor invalid.

My idea:

Here's the original picture:

Yeah, but dude, you found the images and basically created the nifty gungho icon. And the guitar player silhouette one of yourself, and the really pretty cool headless cop icon.

thanks. I guess I just need to get Photoshop (w/animation disc) and/or paintshop. All I'm using right now is MSPaint, Word (yeah, no s***), and MSPhotoEditor. I'm pretty inventive, I think, but there's only so much you can do with stone age equipment.

You're right- it can't extend past the corners of the mouth. (This would prevent you from getting the best seal with a gas mask.) But hey man, it's G.I. Joe! This figure was my "role model" growing up. I guess I could photo-shop the image so it's not unsat. Funny- I hadn't noticed. I'd have ripped one of my buddies for something like that.

Damn straight it was GI Joe! (Leatherneck was my favorite.)

...though I don't suppose wearing nothing but OD jungle pants, WWII jump boots, a cover, and a cut-off Wrangler jacket was particularly reg either...

Actually, I just started hunting down animation programs and things like that and was hoping to learn how to do that myself- i don't think it's too difficult. I'll let you know if I figure it out, or, if i seem to have forgotten and you haven't found anyone yet, feel free to bug me about it in about a week.
