Heartbreak

Damn, I feel useless. We lost Epona today. She was at the vet's sleeping peacfully and an hour later she is gone.
I'm on shock. Why. She was onlyn six months old, and she was healty, actve and freindly. So what took her away in four days. The vet is checking, hopihng for an answer, because I don't think I can stAND LOSING ANOTHER THIS WAY.

Oh Dammit! She was the smartest and liveliest of the new batch! I was missing her already...

The vet checked her out. Will have to wait for the results of the tox screen, but it looks like she ate herslf to death. Her intestines were firery red, not pink, her liver was damaged. Looks like she just could not get enough of those falling oak leaves and she had too much sand and grit in her bowles.
Jim is doing ok, did his crying early on, me. I break into sobs when I think about her
She was the best of our new crop of foals and we are going to miss her, I do have friends with a torbino mini who I want to borrow this spring. Looks a bit like Magic Man, but a bit smaller with a bit more flash to him.
Secret is not taking this easily. She misses her baby nd was calling her when we buried her. And that says a lot about horses.

It has hit hard. I broke when I heard about it and when I put her in the ground. Now I am blocking it out, pushing it down... my usual... until I have some down time to sort my feelings
