kk Cru, what i just did is send a query to accounts@livejournal.com in the form of a reply to their acknowledgement of my payment to extend her account till June 2009.

I don't know if that is a monitored inbox or an automatic one, but when I hear anything I'll post about it. *hopes that this 'temporarily suspended' stuff really means temporary....

A couple of hours ago I posted about who owns the rights [legally] to all her writing and photos, and maybe that has something to do with the plug being pulled now. Hoping not, it was so quick ....

Well, we're about 3.5 hours into the suspension and I haven't heard anything on my requests for information. As soon as I find out I will post here, for everybody.

LifeWithLogan has suggested that LJ ought to be notified that Kiota has died and should come under their memorial-journal status. I guess nobody has ever done that? So I'll go do that also, right now.

Wow, I just noticed that she'd been suspended and thought I'd ask you if you knew anything. Unfortunately the only thing I have to offer is not very encouraging - a friend of mine (fka popartagenda was suspended about a week ago for shaky, unspecific reasons and LJ would not give her her account back (and it had been paid until x date in the future.) Inquiries from friends were met only with a blanket statement about confidentiality. She's back under a new name, but all her writing and pictures from her old journal were lost.

Obviously circumstances are a bit different for kiota...

I did not mean this to be so discouraging. It does seem odd and out of the blue... Good luck with all your efforts. I don't know if anyone has said this to you outright but I think it's really amazing how much you are doing to honor her memory and make sure she lives on through her writing and influence.

this came in about an hour ago from LJ Abuse, just picked it up now:

"Kiota's journal was suspended at the request of her family. we are required to grant the wishes of family members in cases like these."

I answered with thanks for the explanation and with hopes that they will find some solace and healing there, just as we have.

Alicia -- just catching up to this now, from August 26, so you see how often I get back here! I'm well kindasorta, still traveling in Holland, but atm with some knee-joint pains and fallout from nerve damage in my neck. All of that is still manageable, though!

Hope things will work out with Mark... but *you* come first, you shouldn't need to have to confront his wall keeping you out, when you deserve so much more...
