I walked to work this morning!

Yes, yes, this is not a reason for most people to get giddy, but I'm hoping this is the start of something good for me. I've done this before, which means not that I failed before, but that I've proven to myself that I'm capable of doing this. More than my strength, my stamina really needs work, but that will come ( Read more... )

Go for strength anyway. What have you got to loose?

Yeah, the great thing about making a habit of healthy stuff like walking to work is that it feeeels good, becomes kinda addictive. Go, you for starting again!

THANKS! I actually am kind of excited. Taking that proverbial first step and all. If the weather keeps cooperating, I may just become a walking machine.

Yay! I've been working out again (finally). Started last Monday and I've done pretty good at sticking with it. Getting started is the hard part, but you do start to feel better and want to keep doing it. It's just when other stuff gets in the way and stalls you that it's easy to fall off again.

So stick with it! You'll feel better physically and mentally.

Good for you! And if you can work out there up in the clouds where the air is so thin you have to search for it, then I can surely work out down here where the air is so thick that you have to plow it w/a team of draft horses. ; )

But, yeah, it is mostly life that gets in the way. Folks give you that tripe about "making it a priority and making the time" but there are only so many priorities a person can have in a 24-hr day and still sleep. ACK!

Walking is good for the mind as well as the body. Enjoy it before it gets too cold to stick your nose out the front door.

Sorry I missed you last night. You must have IMed me about two minutes after I started watching a movie. Still in NJ, probably never leaving. Whee!

No worries! I'm happy for you, I guess. You seem to have mixed feelings about it, but you're doing the best you can w/what you've got available to you right now, and that's all anyone can ask.

Yeah, if this works out, I may even keep walking into the winter. Invest in some nice waterproof comfy footwear and just go w/it. Right now it's very hard to think about cold when up until 2 days ago it was 100 degrees plus humidity.
