a new camera ... new food photography ... new focus

Aug 10, 2011 13:37

It's raining on my day off and I finally decided to do a new focus on my journal here. Since my scanner died, I lost a bit of focus and decided to let other people scope the Law and I kind of enjoyed looking at him from a different point of view. So, I decided to refocus and jot down all my cooking adventures. So, here is a new leaf in my ever ( Read more... )

Is the PEN one of those Bridge cameras? I keep forgetting what I taught myself and really need a real camera again, but the digital mirror reflex are too big and heavy (I never carried my analogue around) and I can't remember how it was possible for the bridge ones to combine the benefits of mirror reflex with 10.00000 zoom and iso. It's also disheartening to hear a young colleague living on eternal pension get herself one for 3.000 euros and say a pocket one is enough for me.

The PEN is not a bridge camera in that you can change the lenses where as a bridge camera cannot. It's actually one of those micro 4/3 cameras that have come out lately that are more appealing to females who don't want the bulk but want the dSLR quality. Other models include the Panasonic GF series. Sony NEX has their own version. They are comparable to dSLRs without the bulk and you can change the lenses. You can use lenses from the micro 4/3 cameras or you can use regular dSLR lenses as long as you buy their lens adapter.

Yeah. haha. And like all fandoms, it gets pricey. I went out with coworkers today and I realize I need a good tripod.

Actually on this one, you're oddly synchrone with my brother : he just bought a Sony K5, a tripod and a wide angle lens in addition to the one delivered with the K5...

I suspect my new addiction / fandom is trips of all sorts, but mostly in Northern countries. And making pictures of museum food places.

Still need to work on lighting. But I think I got a better idea on how to use my camera after taking it out for a spin with coworkers today. The cake was delicious. Nice and small in size, too. Easy to finish off.

That looks AMAZING. Will definitely send this to my sister. She's restarting her food blog now too at thepluckylemon.com. (We're still working out the design.)
