HEY FIRST POST IN AGES
So really this is mostly tumblr's fault for being so addicting, but I started play DA2 and I wanted to ramble about it a bit, since I know some people on my f-list are playing and yay for sharing thoughts. I'm hitting the end of act one now, so spoilers up to then.
First things first, combat is damn fun. I'm playing a two handed warrior which is way, way more fun than it was in the first game, and especially useful with the AOE and knockback abilities. Also being a warrior I have my sister around, AND SHE. IS. AWESOME. Like, we are the ultimate duo right now although I do know ~things~ about her future but w/e w/e, this Hawke sister team is beautiful and I'm enjoying it. Bethany is like the only person my Hawke likes. I'm pretty much out to be rivals with everyone I possibly can. Seriously. FUCK THIS FRIENDSHIP CRAP, MY TEAMMATES ARE MORONS.
Fenris: ALL MAGES ARE BAD FOREVER
Anders: MAGE MAGE TEMPLAR TEMPLAR HAVE I MENTIONED OPPRESSION YET BAWWWW
Merill: Flemeth. I mean seriously, that is all.
I don't have Isabela or Aveline in my party much, but I was doing a quest and Isabela practically fled when I reached the Qunari camp.
Really suspicious behavior and a missing relic. Yes, I'm positive this is going to end well. /sarcasm
That's not to say I don't like them, they're all pretty cool in their own right but I actually do like the fact that I'm no longer forced to kiss ass to be chill with someone. Fenris is surprisingly cool with me so far despite being 70% rivalry. Merill is actually the closest thing I have to Friendship aside from Bethany, but depending on the way it goes later, that might not last.
One thing about act one? These fucking sidequests seem neverending. O lawd, it's irritating, when I finally got enough to go to the Deep Roads it was like LOL STILL PREPARING, HAVE MOAR QUESTS. I'm hoping the main storyline starts to pick up soon.
However can I just say -- the voice system is so cool. My friend and I were both playing; hers a sarcastic mage and mine a bitchy warrior, and it's neat to hear the different inflections in the voice and what Hawke chooses to say at certain times. My Hawke had an epic win with Isabela
