At some point this holiday, I decided that when someone interrupted me, I would stop talking and exit the conversation.  Asking me a question, then interrupting me 3 words into my response to say something, doesn't actually allow me to finish thoughts.  There is no point for me to answer if my meaning will be lost because I can't finish answering

And that is how Thanksgiving went at my sister's. I don't exist to her in-laws. Of course, baby Emily is good at focusing her displeasure at people. I really shouldn't have whispered lines from Dune in her ear and riled her up to be the weapon of retaliation. :)

No reason why you can't teach people not to fear. Seems a useful skill.

First, hi! Sorry I don't check LJ much these days.

Second, I was so close to doing just what you described with a rude customer at work this week. A nasty old lady who would ask me something, then barely let me get halfway through my first word of reply before cutting in. -__-
