when you say your manager is leaving you mean permanently? Would they hire a new manager or will you be promoted again? What company do you work for?

Yeah, he is leaving for another job. It's apparently doubtful that they'll hire another manager since this situation seems to crop up quite often in this company, because they're extremely disorganized, and cheap, and reluctant to promote people for some reason. (EBGames is where I work, btw :P)

I agree with you. I know I can do it, it's just going to be hard on me. That's all I'm really bitching about. If anything, I kind of WANT to do it just for the life experience... I'm sure something like that, that much responsibility, will force me to mature in some ways, which is always a good, welcome form of growth.

Word, I'm happy/proud of you for finally getting that bastard promotion.

Although it saddens me that even with the positive change you're still worried :< though, to answer your rhetorical question: yes. It's probably a lot easier than you think, you're a bright girl. I bet there's a standard procedure for everything; not to mention, the it's only the 15th of December, so you still have like, a month of preparation, right?

As for all the customers who want to speak to the manager, you get to say "I am the manager" and they get to fuck right off.

Trust me, it's gonna be sweet. Power kicks ass. You'll get to boss around Molly and that rhapsody_01 and lose your temper and shit. All those situations where you thought were a pain yet were out of your control are now solvable because you have authori-tay

While I know it's not gonna be easy, it's probably one of those for-the-best type things. And yeah, I kept bitching about not getting promoted, and now I am, and I bit off more than I can chew... but I'll learn to deal with it. That's just what happens.

But hey, with this promotion, it means the sooner I can save up the money I need, and therefore the sooner I can quit and go traveling, and the sooner I do that the sooner I can get back and get a more better different job and go to school and blah blah blah... or something. XD

i think this will be an awesome change, you just have to remember, people are dicks, and dont let them take advantage of you.
even if people are screaming their ass off at you, thats pretty much the worst they can do, and gives you a good reason to be an ass and not give them what they want. :P

HAHA oh god. Some of the people can be so scary. But I don't care, I HOPE that me being the last in line of charge will give me more confidence because whatever I decide, is pretty much it, so I won't be wishy washy like "well maybe the manager can do something for you..." and blah blah. I just don't have as much common sense when it comes to customer service, and i always feel sorry for people and want to give them an exchange, etc. etc. but yeah. we'll see how it goes :P

PS. i'm free on the 18th and a few places here and there after so let me know what you're doing when you get here and we can hang and stuff! XD
