Yay on the new laptop!:D Though yup,lol, tech support and stores are the worst on Saturday-I avoid them so much, you don't know!:P

Well, if they had bothered to contact me earlier, I'd be able to avoid them too. Hopefully things will be better tomorrow morning.

Oh no! Hopefully the new one will work better, but Windows 8 is a pain. If you want the desktop to look more like a normal computer, install something like Classic Shell which will bring the start menu back. You can also set it up to load the desktop on startup rather than the app screen. I can almost pretend mines a normal computer now!

I use the free Word starter. I've happily written 100s of stories with it.

Alas, Word Starter doesn't work on laptops that came with Windows 8.1. I'm trying to find a way around the conflict, but for now it's back to OpenOffice for me...
