so how do i even begin to say this.

i have a question: why do i put so much stock into what people think of me? why do i care what people's opinions of me are? and why should i let that affect me so much?? is it going to make my life any better by knowing that i made someone else happy ( Read more... )

It sounds to me like this was a positive realization for you. You're being honest with yourself about what you really want, which is much better than continuing to pursue a goal that's not your own. I sympathize with not wanting to let anybody down, but you can't let others rule your life. If these people truly love you and care for you, they'll want you to do what's best for YOU, to follow YOUR dreams. I hope that will prove to be the case. But if they don't...well, it's still YOUR life, and you are the only one who has a right to determine what that life will be, regardless of the approval of others. I wish you good luck, and here's hoping that this realization will pave the way for a wonderful year for you!

thank you SO much. it's nice to hear someone agree with me. :)

i don't understand why people make such a huge deal about getting a college education. yeah, it's a good thing, but that doesn't mean it's going to make you any happier in your life... especially if you're doing it for all the wrong reasons. so that's why i am taking it easy and just trying to figure out exactly what it is i want to do. :)

i am actually glad to hear you say those things, because i knew before that being a nurse wasn't your dream. but we weren't on good terms so i didn't butt in... but if you want to be a serious poet (i might be wrong, it's from last time you told me) get out books on poetic form, and read all the greats etc. i think it's great of you to pursue your dream instead of conforming, and i think that if you study what you want to study on your own then it will prove it's not laziness that kept you from college in fact it was the opposite ( ... )

i love when you post long comments.

i'm not sure what i want to do yet... there are so many things i love. astronomy, poetry, art, music, theatre, and the list goes on. the trouble with living where i do is, there aren't many job opportunities for the things i love to do. :(

so do you like college? how is that going for you? you definitely aren't as timid as me in that respect,-- after being home schooled it would definitely be a humungous thing for me to go to school.

john mayer is great! my mom actually is the one that brought my attention to him... i don't pay much attention to the newer music that is out, but she told me he had a really nice voice. :) and he definitely does.

your mom turned you onto a new artist? man that's so hot! hey if you'd listen to me you'd have discovered him too LOL. (i'm just kidding). as far as his voice, when i first heard him, like i hadn't seen what he looked like and i kept picturing dave matthews cos he does sound like him sometimes. when i heard that wonderland song i thought this is a gem, it should be a single. and now it is! yay! no such thing is my favorite of his tho i think- do you know that one? there's more good ones on the cd, but that one's a single so i bet you might've heard it. i'm sorry i sound so annoying i need to shut up now lol ( ... )
