Oh, sorry, that was actually an old koan.

It's a common Buddhist phrase stating that if you ever meet someone who has reached enlightenment do not follow them, instead find your own path. http://www.ordinarymind.com/koan_killing.html <- this guy (after a quick google search, I don't actually know what the site is like beyond that page) seems to have it down pretty well.

The rest of those examples were just me extrapolating from there, mostly based on the Bible.
