What do you do when despair is a happy feeling? And what do you call it when you're beyond losing all hope? No one can really make decisions for you, but you already know that. I have no words of wisdom, nothing profound or even remotely helpful to say. I'm outside the picture so I can offer a different view point at least. From the sounds of it, your mother has stopped being the parent and in doing so, she's not only wrecking her life but anothers (your sister's I assume?). Here's where I may get a bit unattached and somewhat cruel sounding so I apologize ahead of time. Your mom is the adult here, she knows what she's doing is wrong and she continues to do it anyway. If this was the first episode, I might cut some slack, but I know it's not because you've told me about it before. She's been offered help, but she doesn't want it. It seems she's rather happy to keep going like this. Wrecking her life is one thing, but she has no right to take your sister down with her and make her suffer thru this. So your dilemma is that you could take her away, but that would destroy someone else (your mom I would assume?). Well, look at the options, if ( ... )
