Who in Mithros's name decided that cutting public utilities would be a good thing? I don't mind digging trenches, but that sparkling porcelain thing in the lavatory was nice.

I'm alright, Daine~! I don't mind the rain that much. We can get through this, we just have to work together.

I'm glad someone's got a positive look on things. At least there's room out back for a latrine, right? And it's not like this electricity has been around for that long.

In my world, we didn't have any of this, so I know we'll live.

It'll be just like we're camping!

Electricity's been around for a long time in my world, but it can't be that different from camping! If it weren't raining, I'd go find a tent and we can sleep in that for a night!

...exactly. Only with a roof.

It's not that different- just peculiar. I'm not sure how we'll get the drone brother to participate, though.

If you want, I can go find a tent. They can't be that hard to find, and the rain isn't bad at all. [cue thunder and lightning, crash bang pow!]

Nice, but one must never grow too reliant on convenience.

Oh, don't worry. I've already dug the latrine, I just wonder how many people in the house will want to use it.

What are the porcelain things called?

I believe the most commonly used term is "toilet".

Oh!

That's what the drone boy keeps talking about! That makes a fair bit of sense. Thank you.

Sleeping in rain like this wouldn't be pleasant at all.

No. Especially with no camping gear or anything. So at least we have a house, correct?

How are you?

Right. My family and I are doing all right. Nothing terrible yet, at least.

That's good. We're not doing so bad ourselves, not yet.

I can live without this electricity and the other things, but I'm more worried about getting fresh water. I haven't seen any wells around.

That's a problem. The rain could always be filtered, I suppose. That would work.

That's true. We can also boil it, if we could get some dry wood or newspapers into the fireplaces.
