We can't be afraid of the way people will view us. We can't be afraid of the way society will view us. All we can do is be the best that we can be.

Have you joined the LGBT society too? I made many, many amazing (and gorgeous!) friends that way. :) Go you!

I went to a social last term, but it was a last-minute thing so there weren't many people there, and everyone who was was SO gay I felt kinda uncomfortable - I just don't think I was ready for it, really. I didn't want any of my uni friends to know, either. But I def think I'm going to go along soon, because I think the support woould be v.useful and healthy, and you know, the girls would be awesome too ;) What's your LGBT soc like?

Much the same really; some of the boys were more camp than the Backstreet Boys and bigger divas than Lady Gaga, but they were also some of the funniest, most interesting and upliftingly self-assured people I've ever met. One of them was on X Factor over here recently - search for Diva Fever on YouTube; you'll meet my darling friend Craig and see what I mean!

I found it daunting at first too, but it doesn't take long for that to subside. I found that the people I met through the LGBT society and at the kind of bars and clubs we went to together were much more friendly and welcoming than anyone I've met elsewhere. :)
