Oooh, very interesting ideas! Thanks so much for laying it all out like this. Um, now the n00b has to go figure out how to install these things.

oh, it's super easy to install Greasemonkey and Stylish scripts. Just go to the Firefox Add-Ons site and look up the Add-Ons and click the install buttons. And then restart Firefox.

Then when you go to the above links (or all over the userscripts site or styles site) and get directed to the script location, you'll see install buttons to click for the scripts. You just click them and say yes. Firefox does the install for you. Very straight forward. :)

by the way, there are useful Greasemonkey scripts for LJ, YouTube, Gmail, all sorts of sites...
