I'm actually... pretty excited for the new American Horror Story. Along with the new Secret Circle. And... not exactly sure when that happened ( Read more... )

yes! The constant buzz harshing is just CRUEL AND UNUSUAL SHIPPER PUNISHMENT.

btw, I am all about Cassie/Diana/Adam now. idek but Adam actually gets something like real emotions about Diana, and then Diana's all, "Cassie please hold me against your hot body as we both long for my estranged boyfriend," and Cassie's like, "..." because sometimes she is a weird robot who is never sure about what she feels about anything, but clearly what she hasn't figured out yet is that she wants HOT GROUP SEX.

it IS amazing. The Cassie/Diana/Adam love triangle has temporarily started hitting all of my poly ship buttons, because Adam's all VERY SRS about how his ~feelings about Cassie does not mean that his love for Diana isn't real and Diana isn't part! of! who! he! is! and she makes him a better person etc etc and Cassie's all DNW about them fighting and wants them to be together, and Diana GOES TO CASSIE'S FOR COMFORT IN HER ARMS after epic fight with Adam ABOUT CASSIE. They will probably ruin it in like 2 episodes but for now I'm all *stars in eyes*

Faye/Melissa SO SO MUCH. I want it to happen legit in canon. This where I hit that annoying wall where I don't want to accept that the network/writers "can't" just do that. Because the subtext UST is there, the chemistry is there, it would be awesome, SO WHY CAN'T WE HAVE IT? stupid hetrocentric network tv.

1. I knew a guy once who told me he had written a Xander Harris/Harry Potter fic, and I was jazzed, because I had written one, too. Then he started in on how gross slash was ... and I got very confused. Turned out, in his fic, Xander Harris was Harry Potter. I was like, "There are usage conventions for the slash symbol, you know."

2. Ugh, that annoys me. Or when the character is like, "It's been a while since I had sex last, so we don't need condoms." Newsflash: it doesn't work that way.

Somewhat related: One pairing I love is Luke/Reid from As The World Turns (see icon). Reid is a surgeon who is canonically totally freaked by germs, and Luke is immunosuppressed because of a kidney transplant. And yet the fandom is ALL ABOUT barebacking and rimming, without discussion of the risks first (or ever). I understand preferring smut with those things, but it seems so OOC for these particular guys that it pulls me out of the fic every time. Argh!

AAAAH! I was just ranting about this on the DW post to butterfly. I despise this too, when people list something as a pairing when it's fucking not. How does this help anyone? Your gen readers will skip right it and the slash fans will just be pissed off. (or the het shippers too -- I run into this for my het pairings every so often. I read a whole 7k words fic and I'm like "... ok. um. where's the pairing? Cause I don't...???? I mean, they hung out. and talked. basically platonically. So... WHERE IS THE EXTRA 3K CODA THAT YOU ARE CLEARLY MISSING? WHERE THEY AT LEAST EXPRESS SOME DECLARATION OF INTEREST OR KISS? jfc."

I think they probably do the matchings really well; I'm really happy too with my holiday exchange giftee.

1. Yes, this is very annoying; and the percentage seems to be higher with Damon/Elena/Stefan, most of the time it's not Damon/Elena/Stefan, but people will always mislabel, there needs to be more threesome fic to strike a counterbalance me thinks.

2. I think people are making the incorrect assumption that if you have an STD you would know due to symptoms etc, if anything it's a worrying gap in peoples knowledge.

3. The fades was incredibly awesome, I miss it also, will there be another series?

Vids and fics getting mislabeled as OT3 "pairings" when they're not

OMG, yes. So very annoying. I've gotten very picky about it, honestly, and have a tendency to skip to the end to be sure the OT3 is actually 3.

There's also a number of people who are pairing characters in their fic and thus should use "X/Y", but are instead using "X and Y". This is also very annoying, especially if one is trying to pull links for a fannish newsletter.

Great, now I'm imagining love personified challenging a bunch of viruses to a duel.

My mind is a silly place.
