It's a lot of fun. I'm doing it again because the madness it inspires is great for shifting yourself out of a funk. I've been kind of down lately so my writing productivity has suffered, and I'm going to use this to boost me back up into a real being again.
That's the fun thing about journalism -- there's no such thing as writer's block. You have deadlines, and they're not going to wait for your muse to show up.
Have you considered freelancing for magazines or newspapers? Even if you're only interested in writing fiction long-term, it will really improve your writing skills. You -have- to write. It's like NaNoWriMo every day!!
Oh, I'm not having writer's block. I have plenty of ideas. I've been struggling with some mild depressions since two friends passed away, heavy issues at work, my husband's losing his job next month, I injured my food and haven't been able to exercise... basically I'm stressed to the max and can't seem to get myself out of the funk.
I've considered freelancing, and I might do it for the money. I don't think I'd have too many problems selling pieces, but writing right now with the stress and feeling overwhelmed is just hard, period. I had a good schedule going for editing some of my pieces, and then all of this hit me.
