This is going to sound retarded considering how long I've known you, but I don't think I had any idea that you didn't have a license. I just assumed you didn't feel like driving, not that you were legally prohibited. I've taken a few trips where I relied on friends (and once in a while relatives) for rides, but I always cry myself to sleep for lack of wheels. OK, not quite. If I am in New York, I feel entirely okay about getting around. Driving around in New York is punishment unto itself a lot of the time.
Well, it's entirely obvious if you think about it. But it's one of those human things. I expect people to be like me. I can drive, so everyone else should be able to, as well. Whether they have the need or not. That brings to mind a question. You may not be licensed, but can you operate a motor vehicle?
hi mel -- it´s sarah p., just not at my own computer at the moment. anyway, let me know when you´re going to take your driver´s test and i´ll go with you -- i have to renew my license in person (long story!), so maybe we can hang out together while we wait in liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine...
